Divinity Restored

"Be still, and bare yourself before thine Lord."

This project was created to develop a better understanding of how SpeedTree can be used for creating environments. I had a lot of fun experimenting with how SpeedTree could benefit my current workflow and help speed up my production process.

I was responsible for creating everything in this scene. The ground, bark and structure textures were provided by Quixel and I had the pleasure of using the CrazyIvy plugin to generate the vines!

I used a couple of different techniques to tie everything together and create a scene that was still unique. I created my own tree bark normal map to blend on top of the hero tree in Unreal Engine. I also used two uv channels to create a mask for edgewear that helped blend additional details onto my assets without having to bake out textures for every piece.

Foliage created using SpeedTree, Zbrush, Substance Designer and Maya
Structure created using Maya, Zbrush, and Substance Painter
Final render created with UE5 and Premier Pro
Additional touchups to renders in Photoshop

I used inspiration from the two top references, and gathered what I thought would work best for the project.
